DOWELS Patient Assistance Center, another main ambitious charity project by DOWELS to extend helping hand beyond its family.
The opening ceremony was held on 25th November, 2017 @ TH Kandy with the vision of mobilizing & coordinating resources available in a productive manner to assist those who are in real need.
As medical professionals we frequently come across many human suffering.
When someone suddenly falls ill and is admitted to a hospital, many requirements outside the hospital help would arise. The patients and relatives become helpless due to urgency of the requirements irrespective of their socioeconomic status.
We have experienced the generosity of Sri Lankans in many disaster situations. But there is always a discrepancy in what is needed and what is provided. There are many people willing to help. But they have no idea of how to help. In our day to day life we have seen and felt that there is no proper system of matching donations with requirements.
Dowels charity network initiated the PAC to fill this need in the health care system where patients & their families get helpless in various situations inside the hospital environment.
